According to a new survey, apart from the physical health benefits, drinking red can also bring some mental health advantages - including depression & anxiety. 

An occasional glass of red wine causes us to loosen up & let our minds lay off the pressure and stress that we face regularly. Due to its alcohol content, it has always been avoided for its negative impacts on the well-being. Be that as it may, wine lovers can celebrate now. 

According to the study, the researchers discovered that red wine helps in curbing issues like depression and anxiety. The credit goes to a plant-based compound called resveratrol, present in the beverage. The compound is said to show anti-stress impacts by controlling a catalyst in charge of causing worry in the mind in any case.

The study was featured in the journal Neuropharmacology, and its discoveries uncovered that resveratrol positively influenced our neurological procedure.  Truth be told, this compound, which is found in the skin and seeds of - utilized to make wine gives numerous other medical advantages. 

Ying Xu, Associate Professor, University at Buffalo in the US, said, "Resveratrol may be an effective alternative to drugs for treating patients suffering from depression and anxiety disorders."
