10/07/2019 Sonoma Valley Historical Association and Buena Vista Winery announce the 2nd Sonoma Valley Wine History Weekend

The Sonoma Valley Historical Association and Buena Vista Winery have collaborated for a second year and announced the 2nd Annual Sonoma Valley Wine History Weekend.

The Sonoma Valley Wine History Weekend is a free, two-day event that explores and celebrates the lush history of the Sonoma Valley, along with lectures, plays, art, live music, food, and of course, the trophy of the Sonoma Valley - wine.

The two-day event is going to take place on Saturday - July 27, and Sunday - July 28.

On the first day - Saturday, July 27

At Buena Vista Winery, the day will start out with a free lecture and art exhibition of the Champagne Cellars at the Buena Vista Winery. The art lecture will be based on Hungarian painter Ferenc Daday, whose oil painting of Agoston Haraszthy (Buena Vista Founder) will be revealed at the end of the lecture, along with other illustrations and artwork.

The afternoon will then continue with a food and wine session where food will be available for purchase from a food truck in the Champagne Cellars Courtyard. Wines by Buena Vista will also be available for purchase both by the glass, and bottle.  The evening will end with the performance of a play, written by George Webber, Sonoma Historian.

On Sunday, July 28

At the Depot Park Museum, there will be an illustrated lecture session given by Sonoma Valley Historian Peter Meyerhof about California’s first commercial theatre. And if you missed the play on Saturday, then you’re in luck because there’s going to be a second performance in the afternoon.

Where?

Saturday, July 27 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Buena Vista Winery, 18000 Old Winery Rd Sonoma, California 95476

Sunday, July 28 from 1 to 2:30 at Depot Park Museum, 270 1st St W, Sonoma, CA 95476
