The Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato is celebrating a year of remarkable growth in 2024, reinforcing the position of its 13 appellations in both domestic and international markets. Looking ahead and setting the agenda for 2025, the consortium is launching ambitious initiatives to further enhance the appeal of Barbera d’Asti and Monferrato wines, in an attempt to make them more accessible to a wider global audience.
One of the standout achievements observed in 2024 was the significant growth of Barbera d’Asti DOCG Superiore, with production increasing by more than 200,000 bottles compared to the previous year. This growth reflects the versatility of Barbera d’Asti, appealing to both casual wine drinkers and enthusiasts who seek a richer, more structured experience.
“We have worked hard to make Barbera d’Asti and Monferrato wines more accessible and widely appreciated, with a focus on quality, authenticity, and effective communication,” said Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Consorzio. “In 2025, we aim to build on this success and grow through events and collaborations that will make Barbera d’Asti an even more recognized and favoured wine worldwide.”
