26/02/2020 Over 100 sommeliers are set to gather at the New York Metropolitan Pavilion to taste the Top 100 on-premise wines of the year, and other wine brands from across the globe.

As a sommelier, finding the perfect wines to add to a wine list can be a tough task. Going through a bunch of different wines from time to time, looking to find the perfect one can surely be exhausting. So, what if there was a place where as a sommelier, you could check out the top 100 wines that have been placed on a great scale by trade buyers in the industry?

The United States Trade Tasting (USATT) event is one of the largest events of its kind in the nation. Within the Metropolitan Pavilion of New York City, buyers and sellers meet to discuss new partnerships and new deals. Domestic and international wineries, distilleries, and breweries showcase their newest and most innovative products to importers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers who are looking for new products they can bring to the U.S. market.

The 5th annual USA Trade Tasting will shine the spotlight on the needs of sommeliers by bringing together the Top 100 on-premise wines tasted and shortlisted by trade buyers, sommeliers, master sommeliers, and other industry experts. Over a hundred sommeliers are set to gather at the USA Trade Tasting event to taste these Top 100 on-premise wines.

What are the Top 100 on-premise wines?

Top 100 On-Premise wines is a selection of 100 top wines from the Sommeliers Choice Awards. Uniquely, the T100Wines are selected from votes made by top Sommeliers and On-Premise wine buyers of the USA.

Sommeliers are set to gather to taste the winners of the 2019 Sommeliers Choice Awards and grab a chance to expand their wine lists with the wines that are assessed by the leading trade buyers from the industry.

Sommelier’s Choice Awards

Sommeliers Choice Awards is the ultimate wine competition which aims to provide on-premise buyers and sommeliers a valuable benchmark for understanding which wines would make a compelling addition to a wine list.

Wines entered in the 2019 Sommeliers Choice Awards were tasted and assessed by over twenty wine industry professionals. An all-star judging panel consisting of leading sommeliers, on-premise wine buyers, wine directors at the U.S. restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs gather in San Francisco to judge wines coming from across the globe. Wines are judged on the basis of Food Parability, Typicity, Value, Quality, and Package.

Along with sommeliers tasting the Top 100 on-premise wines, there will also be an exhibition floor where wine, spirits, and beer brands will display their drinks to be tasted. These brands are brands which will shine in a sommelier’s wine list - being that they are all in for the trade.

Exhibiting brands are set to enter the US market

The main thing which makes brands exhibiting at USATT stand out amongst others already in your emails and lists, is that all brands exhibiting at the 2020 USA Trade Tasting are well versed about the US market, and are ready to enter - proving all the support you as a sommelier could need from them.

There is plenty of business activity that goes on right on the exhibition floor, making the USATT event the premier event of its kind for getting your alcohol beverage products in front of potential buyers. The highlight of the entire show is the Grand Tasting Hall, where more than a hundred exhibitors set up demo booths and conduct live tastings for potential buyers.

You will be able to taste, network with, and crack deals right there and then at the USATT Grand Tasting in New York.

USATT invites all sommeliers to come along and taste the Top 100 on-premise wines from the Sommelier’s Choice Awards, and also meet and taste wines from other brands that are exhibiting at the event.
